Download speeds for our basic plan, the Star100, can reach up to 700Kbps.* This is more than enough to handle even the most data intensive Web sites and high-resolution video applications. Speeds for the Star200 plan can reach up to 1,000Kbps. Connection plan speeds steadily increase on the higher-level plans, with the Star300 plan offering download speeds up to 1,500Kbps and the Star400 and Star500 plans delivering the highest download speeds available over any consumer satellite system: pulling down data at up to 2,000Kbps, or approximately 100 times the speed of a typical rural dial-up connection.

Upload Speed
Satellite Internet connections have a characteristic common among most broadband Internet technologies whereby the download speeds are faster than upload speeds. This reflects typical Web use patterns in which most information flows to the end user, such as when viewing Web pages or downloading an audio file. Agristar Global Networks’ connection plans all deliver major upload speed increases over previous generation systems and enable you to send large email attachments and upload pictures incredibly fast.

The Star100 plan has upload speeds up to 128Kbps, more than 6 times as fast as a rural dial-up connection. The Star200 connection plan provides upload speeds that can reach up to 200Kbps, or 10 times the speed of rural dial-up. The Star300 and Star400 plans have even faster upload speeds, reaching 300Kbps and 500 kbps respectively. And Agristar Global Networks Star500 plan has the fastest upload speeds available anywhere – up to 1,000Kbps, or 50 times faster than typical rural dial up!

* It is important to note that speeds will fluctuate somewhat due to the fact that Agristar Global Networks’ satellite Internet service, like most broadband services, is on a shared network. Speeds are not guaranteed due to the fact that actual speeds experienced by an individual user are impacted by overall network traffic at a given time. During peak-usage periods, speeds can be expected to be somewhat lower than the connection plans’ stated maximums, typically 70% to 85% of stated speeds.
